Music & Theater Bio

Barbara’s life has always been filled with music, creativity, and connection. Her charm, talent, and zest for life shine brightly in everything she does. She began singing at just 16 years old and played her first gig at 19 — a surprise performance at The Big Wheel on The Landing in Fort Wayne. The audience’s reaction that night led to her first paid singing job and sparked a lifelong love of performing.

Throughout the 1970s and ’80s, Barbara made her living performing live full-time and became a familiar face on Fort Wayne’s vibrant music scene. She played at many of the city’s most beloved venues — including The Big Wheel, The Cellar, Mother’s, Peter’s, The Phoenician Room, Chaucer’s Inn, and Win Schuler’s. Her music career also extended into Michigan, where she performed at Holly’s Landings and Bistros, and she was featured on several WANE-TV music programs during the 1970s.

Among her most cherished memories are the many summers she spent as a guest singer at Boat-In Worship at The Oakwood on Lake Wawasee — sharing her voice and faith with hundreds of lake-goers each Sunday morning.

Barbara’s talents extend beyond music; she was also active in local theater for many years, performing with The Master Players at Fellowship Missionary Church and later with All For One Productions, where she brought a wide range of characters to life on stage.
